Core Female Evaluation

Testing for the female partner primarily assesses ovarian reserve and uterine health:

Ovarian Reserve Testing
Measures the quantity and quality of remaining eggs using blood tests for Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH), Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH), and Estradiol (E2). A transvaginal ultrasound is also used to perform an Antral Follicle Count (AFC).
Uterine Cavity Evaluation
Imaging tests like a pelvic ultrasound, sonohysterogram (saline-infused ultrasound), or Hysteroscopy are used to check for fibroids, polyps, or structural abnormalities.
Tubal Patency
A Hysterosalpingogram (HSG), which uses X-ray dye, confirms if the fallopian tubes are open or blocked.
Hormonal Profile
Additional blood tests may check for thyroid function (TSH), Prolactin, and Progesterone to ensure a receptive environment for pregnancy.

Core Male Evaluation

The cornerstone of male fertility testing is a Semen Analysis:

Standard Parameters: Evaluates sperm count, concentration, motility (movement), and morphology (shape).
Advanced Testing May include Sperm DNA Fragmentation testing or Y-chromosome microdeletion studies if standard results are severely abnormal.

Screening & Advanced Diagnostics

Infectious Disease Screening: Both partners are legally required to be screened for HIV, Hepatitis B and C, and syphilis.
Genetic Testing: Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) can be performed on embryos to screen for chromosomal abnormalities (PGT-A) or specific inherited disorders (PGT-M) before transfer.
